Demonstration organised by far-right activist, Tommy Robinson: Saturday 13 September
A demonstration is due to start in Waterloo tomorrow, Saturday 13 September. The muster point for the march is on Stamford Street at 10.45am proceeding via Westminster Bridge to Whitehall where a rally will be held near Parliament Square. A counter-demonstration organised by Stand Up To Racism will also take place, starting at Russell Square and ending in Whitehall.
The Metropolitan Police have confirmed a robust and comprehensive policing plan will be in place, with particular focus given to side streets in addition to main thoroughfares.
Coin Street, Colombo Fitness Centre and Rambert Dance Company have cancelled their sessions tomorrow. If you are planning to attend any other events in the area, check they are going ahead before you leave home.
We are proud to be part of an inclusive neighbourhood that celebrates diversity. The advice is to avoid the protest area. If you feel unsafe or need assistance, call 999 (urgent) or 101 (non-urgent).
