Students at London South Bank University have set up a new initiative that blends hands‑on learning and real environmental impact. Introducing the Repair and Learn Hub, a student-led space designed to empower you to fix, reuse, and rethink the things you already own.

The Repair and Learn Hub launched on 25 March and is run by an enthusiastic team of LSBU students in collaboration with the School of Engineering and Design and supported by the South Bank Students’ Union. The project has also gained backing from Engineers Without Borders UK and RS Group plc through The Big Pitch, helping turn a practical idea into a fully realised community service. The Repair & Learn Hub aims to reduce waste, keep everyday items in use for longer and build hands‑on engineering skills.

Each week, LSBU students will assess and repair broken household items brought in by the public from small appliances to gadgets in need of a second life. The Hub won’t just fix things; it will grow a culture of repair.
